The Group Psychology

An important issue in life is being unaware of the slavery to Group Psychology.  If one identifies oneself with a group, religious or otherwise, the tendency to 'believe what one wants to believe' takes over and the conditioning process is set going.  Soon, it reaches such a hardened level that one not only becomes completely unaware of the slavery, but goes on to justify it as a salutary thing!  The essence of this slavery is the forgetfulness that group psychology is different from mob psychology only in degree, not in kind.  The moment one senses this truth, there is freedom from the slavery.  This does not mean that we should not listen to others, but that it is good to be aware of how the slavery takes over our minds. Such an awareness allows us to interact freely with people but makes sure that we don't fall a prey to the conditioning factor.  When this freedom from slavery to group psychology spreads amongst the people, there is a possibility of bringing about a happy and harmonious world with a united and compassionate mankind.
